Alasko frozen raspberry norovirus recall

Overview

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) issued a Class 1 food recall for Alasko brand frozen whole raspberries due to potential norovirus contamination. The recall, which followed an investigation into a foodborne illness outbreak, affected 1 kg and 5 kg formats with a best before date of November 10, 2027. These products were distributed across seven Canadian provinces, including Ontario and Quebec.

Following the initial recall, health officials in Quebec (MAPAQ), in coordination with Boulangeries Ange, issued a public health warning regarding raspberry pastries. The warning identified raspberry tarts, tartlets, and danishes sold at nine Ange bakery locations that may have been contaminated by the Alasko frozen raspberries. Consumers were advised not to consume pastries purchased between September 8 and September 11, 2026.
