Alayköy nightclub armed attack investigation

Overview

On August 28, 2026, two suspects, identified as K. B. and D. D., allegedly targeted a nightclub sign in Alayköy with a shotgun. Police reported the motive for the attack was that the suspects were not provided with hostesses. Following the incident, authorities located the suspects in a vehicle in Girne, where they recovered a Felix Sarasqueta shotgun and 15 shells.

By September 1, the investigation had expanded. During a court appearance in Lefkoşa, police revealed that the shotgun used in the attack is registered to an individual named Yaşar Falyalı, and investigators are working to determine how the suspects acquired the weapon. The court has extended the suspects' detention to facilitate ballistic testing, analysis of swab samples, and the review of camera footage.
