In the Algiers region, a new wastewater treatment plant was commissioned in Sidi Abdallah. With a daily capacity of 32,000 cubic meters, the facility serves approximately 200,000 residents across five sectors. The project is intended to support urban expansion and reduce pollution in the Mazafran wadi by treating effluents before they are discharged into the environment.
Further developments include technical trials for the extension of the Djen Djen port, utilizing three-dimensional physical models to ensure the stability of maritime structures. Additionally, the Ministry of Hydraulics is managing projects to connect seawater desalination plants to inland provinces. These pipeline systems, which can extend up to 250 km, are designed to transport desalinated water to multiple provinces, including Tlemcen, Chlef, and Mostaganem.
