Almería provincial birth incentive program

Overview

The Provincial Council of Almería has begun distributing ‘baby checks’ as part of the ‘Almería 103 Strategy.’ This initiative is designed to encourage family settlement and increase birth rates in small municipalities with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants.

The first recipient of the 1,000 euro direct aid payment was a child from Suflí. Since the program was announced in March, the Council has processed 16 grants across 11 different municipalities, including Benizalón, Chercos, Líjar, Partaloa, Paterna, Santa Fe, Alhabia, Huécija, Lucainena, and Uleila del Campo. The program seeks to foster demographic growth to ensure the future development of rural towns.
