Amaravati capital infrastructure development
Overview
Infrastructure development in the Amaravati capital region has progressed from active construction oversight to the inauguration of major transport links.
In July 2026, the Amaravati Development Corporation (ADC) directed the immediate completion of Phase-III works on the Seed Access Road. Following previous delays caused by land acquisition issues, construction resumed with the deployment of heavy machinery to complete road surfacing and bridge approach works, including a steel bridge over the Buckingham Canal.
By August 2026, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated Phase-2 of the 21.77-km E-3 Seed Access Road corridor. This phase included the opening of two significant steel engineering structures: a 110-metre bridge over the Buckingham Canal and a 280-metre bridge spanning the Kondaveeti Vagu and the Guntur Channel. The project, managed by the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA), is part of a broader effort to establish Amaravati as a planned international city with advanced infrastructure.
