Amazonas state health facility revitalization

Overview

The Amazonas State Health Secretariat (SES-AM) has initiated a modernization and revitalization program for several state health units in Manaus.

In mid-August, the project began at SPA São Raimundo in the western zone, involving structural improvements to the pharmacy, consultation rooms, and pediatric areas. Governor Roberto Cidade announced that these upgrades are intended to transform the facility into a UPA (Emergency Care Unit).

By late August, revitalization efforts were also reported at SPA Eliameme Rodrigues Mady in the North Zone and the Dr. Heitor Vieira Dourado Tropical Medicine Foundation. Works at the Eliameme Rodrigues Mady facility include expanding emergency room capacity, improving X-ray areas, and upgrading administrative sectors and bathrooms. State officials indicated that these interventions aim to improve service conditions while monitoring progress to ensure patient care remains uninterrupted.
