American Airlines AAdvantage loyalty program updates

American Airlines has introduced several updates and promotions for its AAdvantage loyalty program. The AAdvantage Business program, serving small businesses in the United States and Canada, is offering a 15,000 bonus mile incentive for new members who register with a specific code by October 31, 2026, provided they meet specific revenue and traveler requirements.

Additionally, a SimplyMiles promotion allows members to earn 4X AAdvantage miles and 4X Loyalty Points per dollar spent on Lyft rides via a linked Mastercard through December 31, 2026, subject to a cap per redemption.

In a shift in strategic partnerships, Hyatt Hotels Corporation and American Airlines are ending their enhanced loyalty collaboration that has been in place since 2019. Hyatt has announced a new long-term partnership with Delta Air Lines. While the American Airlines and Hyatt collaboration is winding down, existing benefits remain available through the current earning year. AAdvantage members who link accounts with World of Hyatt by November 15, 2026, can remain eligible to earn Hyatt awards through Loyalty Point Rewards until February 28, 2027. Conversely, Hyatt members linking by that date can earn AAdvantage awards through Hyatt Milestone Rewards until December 31, 2026. Members may also choose to earn 500 miles instead of Hyatt points on eligible stays by providing their AAdvantage number at check-in.

Furthermore, American Airlines is offering targeted AAdvantage Business members 5,000 bonus miles for each qualifying flight segment to or from Los Angeles (LAX), Chicago O’Hare (ORD), and New York area airports (JFK, LGA, and EWR). Travelers must register by December 31, 2026, to qualify for a maximum of 50,000 bonus miles.
