Anambra State infrastructure monitoring initiatives

The Anambra State Government announced plans to launch DocTracker, a digital platform developed by the state ICT Agency to monitor public infrastructure projects. The system is intended to track projects from contract award through to maintenance, aiming to increase transparency and accountability in government spending. Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure Okey Ezeobi noted that the platform would allow citizens to provide feedback on project progress and asset conditions.

Following these developments, a training program for fifty youths from all 21 local government areas was initiated in Awka. Known as the Anambra Youth Accountability Hub (AYAH), this six month program is implemented by the Creative Minds Center for Youth and Community Development with support from the Nigeria Youth Futures Fund. The training focuses on skills such as public budget tracking, procurement monitoring, and data collection. Professor Ebuka Nwankwo, Director of the Anambra State Project Evaluation, Monitoring and Supervision Unit, stated that these participants will act as additional community voices to help the government identify implementation gaps.
