Andhra Pradesh land rights and governance initiatives
Overview
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has prioritized land rights and revenue transparency as part of his administration’s governance agenda. The government has repealed the previous administration’s Land Titling Act and is conducting a large-scale resurvey process to secure land ownership. This initiative includes the issuance of millions of pattadar passbooks utilizing blockchain and e-KYC technology.
Building on these efforts, the administration is moving toward the distribution of house regularisation pattas. In Vijayawada, the government plans to provide legal ownership rights to over 24,000 families living on long-standing NTR house sites, covering approximately 617 acres of land. This program follows similar regularisation efforts previously conducted in Visakhapatnam.
