Overview

The Andy Warhol legacy is being highlighted through significant museum developments and exhibitions in Europe. In Medzilaborce, Slovakia, the Andy Warhol Museum of Modern Art has reopened following a three-year, €15.9 million renovation. The project, supported by the Slovak state, the Prešov Self-Governing Region, and the European Union, has expanded the facility to include new exhibition spaces, an amphitheater, and multimedia technologies. The museum’s collection now exceeds 400 original Warhol works and approximately 120 pieces from other pop art figures.

Concurrently, a new exhibition titled ‘Andy Warhol – Forever Love’ is scheduled to open at La Vaccheria – Casa della Pop Art in Rome, running from September 2026 through March 2027. Curated by Gianfranco Rosini, the showcase features 51 Warhol works alongside 60 biographical documents and 37 works by other pop artists. The exhibition also includes 28 original photographs by Dino Pedriali from Warhol’s 1978 visit to Italy.
