Animate retail expansion in Fukuoka

Animate has announced the opening of ‘Animate Lachic Fukuoka Tenjin’ on October 24, 2026. Located on the 8th floor of the Lachic Fukuoka Tenjin commercial facility, the new branch will relocate the existing Animate Fukuoka Parco and serve as the largest Animate location in the Kyushu region.

The facility is designed to offer an expanded selection of comics, CDs, Blu-rays, and character goods. It will include several specialized areas such as ‘Animate Latte’, ‘Animate Cafe’, ‘Space A la mode’, and ‘CyConveni’, alongside dedicated sections for Square Enix and ‘Touken Ranbu ONLINE’.

To mark the grand opening, the store has scheduled various promotional events and collaborations. These include a ‘Bungo Stray Dogs’ collaboration featuring voice actor Kisho Taniyama, a ‘Tsukiuta.’ series event with voice actor Kensho Ono, and the appointment of VTuber Raden Juufuutei from hololive DEV_IS as a promotional ambassador. Additionally, an ‘ART & DESIGN EXHIBITION’ for ‘Bungo Stray Dogs’ is planned to take place at the adjacent Space Galleria FUKUOKA from November 20 to December 21, 2026.
