The recall was initiated due to potential foreign matter contamination in battery cells, which may cause internal short circuits and fires.

Recent reports highlight a fire incident in Okinawa Prefecture where the device was left inside a vehicle, causing damage to the product and its surroundings. While it remains unclear if this specific incident is linked to the existing recall, five fire incidents related to the recall have been reported to date, including three in fiscal year 2025 and two in fiscal year 2026.

As of August 13, 2026, the recall recovery rate is 43.7%. The Consumer Affairs Agency has urged owners of affected products to stop using the devices immediately and contact Anker Japan.
