Apex Legends Season 30 rollout and technical issues

Overview

In early August 2026, Respawn Entertainment released Apex Legends Season 30, titled “Marked.” The update introduced a reworked Bloodhound kit featuring a new “Allfather’s Cloak” ultimate and enhanced scanning passive, buffs to Loba and Rampart, and a refreshed World’s Edge map. New “Corrupted Attachments” were added as a top-tier rarity, and gameplay mechanics shifted with the removal of energy ammo from ground loot, moving to a system where energy regenerates within magazines.

Within hours of the August 4 launch, the update overwhelmed the game’s infrastructure, triggering widespread server outages, login failures, and error-code 429 messages. Over 10,000 player reports were logged as connection stability faltered. Simultaneously, controller users reported changes to aim-assist, tracking, and sensitivity behavior, sparking speculation of an unannounced nerf. While community members noted both faster-sensing and sluggish-tracking symptoms, Respawn’s patch notes made no mention of such adjustments. Respawn acknowledged the server-stability issues but has not addressed the aim-assist concerns.

By mid-August, the season transitioned into a new competitive structure, implementing an extended five-day ranked ladder system. The second of these competitive windows ran from August 18 through August 23, with subsequent windows scheduled through late August and early September.
