Argentina health cooperation and management initiatives

Overview

Argentina has engaged in efforts to strengthen both international health cooperation and domestic health management systems.

On an international level, Argentina’s Health Minister Mario Lugones met with U.S. health authorities and Ambassador Peter Lamelas to establish a roadmap for technical exchange. Discussions focused on epidemiological surveillance, biosecurity, and antimicrobial resistance through collaboration between Argentina’s ANLIS-Malbrán and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The meeting also addressed non-communicable diseases in children via the ‘Make Our Children Healthy Again’ strategy.

Domestically, health authorities have moved toward modernizing administration and food safety. In Entre Ríos, the Sigap Salud digital tool was launched at Hospital Delicia Concepción Masvernat to improve administrative efficiency and transparency for health workers. Concurrently, provincial governments in Río Negro and the Municipality of Ituzaingó in Buenos Aires have implemented training programs focused on safe food handling and hygienic preparation to reduce contamination risks.
