Argentine political leaders asset declarations
Overview
Argentine political leaders Javier Milei and Máximo Kirchner have released their 2025 asset declarations, showing significant increases in their respective wealth.
President Javier Milei reported a 43.3% nominal increase in assets, with his total wealth rising from approximately $206 million to $295.2 million. This growth was attributed to the revaluation of existing assets, such as a Buenos Aires property, and the increased peso value of his US dollar holdings. Milei also disclosed a new debt of $586,357 with Banco Supervielle.
National Deputy Máximo Kirchner reported a total patrimony of approximately 11,085 million pesos, a 33.4% increase from the previous year. Kirchner noted that 97.7% of this increase—roughly 2,711 million pesos—was due to the revaluation of existing assets, including real estate in Santa Cruz and Buenos Aires and corporate interests in Los Sauces S.A. and Hotesur S.A. His declaration also included approximately $2.8 million in US dollars, which he identified as originating from the inheritance of Néstor Kirchner. Notably, 19 of his 27 declared properties are subject to a seizure order related to the Vialidad court case.
Kirchner’s reported wealth increase was nearly twenty-six times higher than his annual income of approximately 108 million pesos from salary and rentals. Following the submission of these sworn statements to the Anti-Corruption Office, Kirchner and Cristian Ritondo, head of the PRO bloc, were identified as the deputies with the highest declared assets in the Argentine Chamber of Deputies for the 2025 fiscal year.
