Argentine presidential communication leadership dispute

Confusion emerged within the Argentine presidency regarding the leadership of its communication strategy. Presidential spokesperson Adrián Ravier initially confirmed that filmmaker Santiago Oria had assumed leadership of digital communication coordination, a role previously held by Santiago Caputo. Ravier later issued a clarification stating there was “no change in the organizational chart of the Executive Power’s communication,” asserting that Caputo remained in charge.

Despite these contradictions, reports indicated that Oria’s team had been managing social media strategy and utilizing artificial intelligence for several weeks. This shift is reportedly linked to the influence of Karina Milei, who has empowered Oria to direct strategic communication.

The transition has triggered internal friction between Caputo and Oria. Caputo expressed dissatisfaction on social media, stating, “Only me sentaré aquí en un horror silencioso y veré cómo se desarrolla el desastre exactamente como predije.” In response, Oria emphasized his long-standing loyalty to President Javier Milei. Analysts suggest the reorganization marks a move away from the communication style established by Caputo toward a model led by Oria.
