Argentine provinces self-finance housing projects
Overview
In Argentina, provinces are increasingly utilizing local resources to fund housing developments following a halt in national financing.
In Salta, Governor Gustavo Sáenz oversaw the delivery of 138 homes through the ‘Casa Propia con Ahorro Previo’ provincial plan. Sáenz noted that the province has taken responsibility for completing more than 2,000 homes using provincial resources after national funding ceased.
Similarly, in Tucumán, Governor Osvaldo Jaldo announced that the province will self-finance the Procrear Housing Complex in the Manantial Sur area. This large-scale project involves the urbanization of 100 hectares and aims to provide 1,400 homes and 1,600 serviced lots, with the first stage estimated to cost over 113 billion pesos.
