Arizona Cardinals player injury updates

Overview

In late July 2026, the Arizona Cardinals placed four players on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list to begin training camp. Those players included edge rusher Josh Sweat, rookie offensive tackle Paris Johnson Jr., center Garrett Williams, and tackle Tip Reiman. Coach Mike LaFleur noted that Sweat and Johnson Jr. were both dealing with knee injuries, though he stated the team was not concerned about Sweat’s health or commitment.

By late August, the team activated cornerback Garrett Williams from the PUP list. Williams is returning to practice following an Achilles tear sustained in December 2025. Coach LaFleur indicated the team would approach Williams’ return “one day at a time.”
