Armed robberies and police activity in Ceilândia

Criminal activity involving armed robberies and police pursuits has been reported in Ceilândia.

In mid-August, a police chase involving the Military Police of the Federal District (PMDF) led to the arrest of five individuals. The pursuit began after officers identified a vehicle similar to one used in a recent robbery in Brazlândia. During the chase, the driver performed dangerous maneuvers and attempted to ram police vehicles, resulting in an adolescent being struck by a fragment from a police shot aimed at the car’s tires. A .38 caliber revolver was recovered at the scene.

In early September, the PMDF arrested a man following an armed robbery at a lumber yard in Ceilândia. The suspect, who was reportedly serving a semi-open sentence, had left a penitentiary center only hours before the incident. During the robbery, two armed men stole mobile phones and jewelry. Following a collision between a victim’s vehicle and the suspects' motorcycle, the criminals fled on foot. Police later apprehended the suspect at a bus stop and recovered a .38 caliber revolver with a filed-off serial number.
