Arpe del Mondo harp festival in Sardinia

Overview

The 12th edition of the Arpe del Mondo festival is scheduled to take place in Sardinia from October 1 to October 4. The event, which promotes the harp through various musical genres, will feature performances in Cagliari, Iglesias, and the Montevecchio mining area.

Highlights of the festival include the debut of Catrin Finch, the Royal Harpist to HRH the Prince of Wales, performing her work ‘Notes to Self’ on October 1. Other scheduled performances include Myrdhin in Iglesias on October 2 and Pirri on October 3, with a grand finale at the Montevecchio mines on October 4. The festival is noted for blending Celtic traditions with electroacoustic research and experimentation.

In Sardinia, the Arpe del Mondo festival will run alongside the 29th edition of the Forma e Poesia nel Jazz festival in Cagliari. Under the theme ‘Analogico futuro’, the jazz festival is expanding its scope to include international artists such as Yamandu Costa from Brazil and Samih Al Madhoun from Gaza, exploring the balance between technology and human connection. The jazz festival will also feature the Jazzbois and Italian performer Stefano Di Battista.

Additionally, Alghero has been announced as the host for the European Jazz Conference 2027.
