ASELSAN defense industry contract developments
Overview
ASELSAN continues to secure significant defense contracts, expanding its domestic and international footprint. Building on previous agreements with the Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB) for radar systems and ROKETSAN for air defense components, the company has entered into new hybrid air defense contracts with the SSB valued at €2.46 billion.
Domestic cooperation has intensified through a €1.23 billion contract with ROKETSAN to supply sub-components for the ‘Steel Dome’ (Çelik Kubbe), an integrated national air defense network. This network incorporates the Sungur, Korkut, and Gürz systems for low-altitude defense, Hisar-A and Hisar-O for low and medium altitudes, and the long-range Siper system. Furthermore, ASELSAN and the SSB signed a €523 million contract to develop a Next Generation Air and Missile Defense System.
As of late 2026, the company’s financial performance has shown substantial growth, with its order backlog exceeding $30 billion for the first time at the end of September. In the first nine months of 2026, ASELSAN secured $14 billion in new contracts, including $1.9 billion in export orders, marking a 34 percent increase from the previous year. Revenue rose 28 percent in real terms to 151.5 billion Turkish Liras.
To meet rising demand, the company has increased technology spending and production capacity by 228 percent to $684 million. Research and development spending also rose 36 percent to $1.3 billion, targeting sectors such as satellite technology, quantum computing, and microelectronics.
International expansion remains a key driver. In Poland, ASELSAN signed an agreement with manufacturer AMZ Kutno to deliver 24 sets of ARSUS reconnaissance and surveillance systems for the Polish Armed Forces, with deliveries scheduled for 2028–2029.
