A survey by Kapa Research found that 76 percent of maritime executives believe the East will be the most influential force in maritime transport in the coming years, while only 17 percent identified the West as the primary center of influence. China was specifically highlighted as a dominant player, with 69 percent of respondents identifying it as the world’s leading shipbuilding nation and 72 percent attributing the greatest economic weight in global maritime transport to the country.
