Assassination of Alexander Aslani in Marbella

Overview

On October 7, 2026, Dr. Alexander Aslani, a 57-year-old prominent German plastic surgeon and founder of the Cirumed Clinic, was shot and killed inside his Marbella clinic in the Río Real area. Known as ‘the surgeon of the famous,’ Aslani was attacked shortly before 6:00 PM local time. A masked assailant wearing dark clothing, a helmet, and a hood entered the clinic and fired multiple shots at the doctor’s head at close range. The surgeon’s wife, several staff members, and patients witnessed the assault. Despite attempts by emergency responders to stabilize him, Aslani succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

By October 9, Spanish National Police arrested an 18-year-old Swedish national in a holiday apartment in Benalmádena. The suspect, who was reportedly preparing to flee the country, has been placed in provisional prison without bail. Investigators believe the teenager acted as a hired hitman who traveled to Spain specifically to execute the hit and may have fled the area on a high-powered motorcycle.

While initial investigations explored various motives, the primary working hypothesis has shifted toward a contract killing motivated by a dispute with a client. Authorities are currently investigating a woman suspected of ordering the execution following a “bitter disagreement over cosmetic surgery results and refund demands.” Although links to organized crime or medical complications involving a former patient were considered, the focus remains on this potential client-related motive. Investigators are also working to determine if the assailant acted alone or had accomplices.
