Assault of York College students in Pennsylvania
Overview
In mid-September 2026, several female students from York College of Pennsylvania were assaulted by a mob during an illegal street takeover near the 300 block of West Jackson Street. The victims, who were sitting on the porch of an off-campus rental, were reportedly punched, kicked, maced, and dragged by their hair, leaving some unconscious.
Following the incident, authorities identified and charged three female juveniles with various offenses, including felony rioting, simple assault, harassment, and criminal trespass. York County District Attorney Tim Barker noted that while the suspects will be processed through the juvenile justice system, they will face “serious consequences.”
In response to the violence, York Mayor Sandie Walker announced a 30-day public safety action plan to improve accountability and collaboration. Local reports indicated that while campus safety was present, city police response was delayed due to officers assisting a SWAT team with a separate incident elsewhere in the city.
