Atlânticoline vessel service resumption
Overview
The maritime transport company Atlânticoline has completed repairs and mandatory safety checks on the vessel Gilberto Mariano, which was sidelined following the discovery of a ‘technical anomaly’ during a routine inspection.
The vessel, which had been immobilized for one week, is scheduled to resume operations this Saturday. While the return of the ship is expected to revert some recent operational changes, Atlânticoline noted that current schedule adjustments will remain in place until Monday.
During the service suspension, the company managed disruptions in the Central group of the Azores archipelago by utilizing the ships Cruzeiro do Canal and Cruzeiro das Ilhas. Although passenger-only trips were maintained, the company previously highlighted that transporting vehicles was particularly challenging due to high seasonal demand.
