ATM robberies in Italy

Overview

In late August 2026, explosive ATM robberies occurred at two separate locations in Italy using the ‘marmotta technique’. In Vigevano, a gang detonated an explosive device at a Bper branch on Corso Repubblica, causing significant damage. In San Paolo di Civitate, a group of at least five individuals targeted a Banca Credem branch with two explosions, damaging windows and the building exterior. This incident in San Paolo di Civitate was noted as the 26th ATM robbery in the province of Foggia during that year.
