Australian mining exhibitions and awards 2026-2027

Overview

In late July 2026, the Queensland Mining & Engineering Exhibition (QME) in Mackay concluded with a black-tie gala presenting the Queensland Mining Awards. More than 70 entries were judged across nine categories, with winners including Pentacon & BMA (Collaboration), Bravus Mining & Resources (Safety & Environment), FMS Group (Innovation and Contractor of the Year), Kestrel Coal Resources (Innovation – Miner), Mammoet Australia (Productivity), KAEFER Australia (Community/EEO), Lucas Drilling (Best New Technology), and Anglo American (Safety Initiative). Speakers, including Queensland Minister for Natural Resources and Mines Dale Last, highlighted the sector’s resilience and the impact of digital transformation. The event attracted approximately 6,500 visitors and 360 suppliers, featuring equipment from Hitachi and Liebherr.

Organizers Prime Creative Media have also outlined upcoming industry milestones. The Asia-Pacific International Mining Exhibition (AIMEX) is scheduled for 28–30 September 2027 at the Adelaide Showground. AIMEX will feature a Transformation Tech Zone focusing on automation and AI, a Stewardship Summit on responsible mining, and the inaugural Asia-Pacific Mining Investment Summit (APMI Summit) on 29–30 September 2027 to connect resource companies with institutional investors.

Additionally, the Australian mining sector is preparing for the 2026 Australian Mining Prospect Awards, set for 16 September 2026 at Fraser’s King Park in Perth. Held during the WA Mining Conference & Exhibition, the awards will recognize finalists from major companies such as BHP, Rio Tinto, Fortescue, and Alcoa in categories including sustainability innovation, mine safety, and First Nations engagement.
