Program Director Stefanie Groiss-Horowitz stated the broadcaster must prioritize Austrian fiction, culture, and documentaries.

To manage the deficit, interim Director General Ingrid Thurnher announced that the marketing subsidiary, OMC, will close the ORF-Shop and the ‘ORF-Stars’ department. The organization plans to reduce executives, consolidate departments, and may consider ‘zero-wage rounds’ for employees. Clemens Pig is designated to take over as Director General on January 1, 2027.
