Austrian regional music awards
Overview
In October 2026, various regional music associations and state bodies in Austria held ceremonies to honor musical achievement.
In Upper Austria, the Upper Austrian Brass Music Association (OÖBV) conducted award ceremonies in Bad Ischl and Sipbachzell. These events recognized members of the Werkskapelle Laufen Gmunden-Engelhof with gold merit orders and other distinctions, while twelve members of the Musikverein Krenglbach received performance badges. In total, 173 musicians were honored during a district event in Wels-Land.
Concurrently, the State of Tyrol presented the 16th Tyrolean Brass Music Prize and the 14th Tyrolean State Prize for Choirs and Vocal Ensembles. Recognized ensembles included Musikkapelle Anras, Musikkapelle Ranggen, and Jugendblasorchester HULA in the brass category, while Jugendchor Tristach and Kammerchor ‘Pars Pro Toto’ were honored in the choral category. The awards, presented by state officials, aimed to celebrate volunteers sustaining regional musical culture.
