Balıkesir mobile veterinary services for street animals

Overview

Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality has implemented a mobile veterinary service to provide medical care to street animals across 20 districts. Launched under the project title ‘Sahip çıkıyoruz, sahipsiz bırakmıyoruz’ (We take care of them, we do not leave them helpless), the ‘Can Dost Mobil Tedavi’ vehicle provides services such as rabies vaccinations, parasite applications, and routine health screenings.

The initiative has expanded into a continuous program. Following an initial tour through various districts, the municipality has scheduled further visits for the September-October period. This mobile service is part of broader municipal efforts, including the ‘Pati Park’ and ‘Can Dost Natural Living Area’ projects, aimed at improving the living conditions and safety of stray animals.
