Baltic Sea offshore wind farm construction

Overview

Equinor and Polenergia have finished installing 100 wind turbine foundations and two offshore substation structures for the Baltic 2 and Baltic 3 projects in the Baltic Sea. These wind farms are expected to have a combined capacity of 1.44 GW.

The installation process utilized up to 35 vessels, including the heavy-lift vessel Thialf. Energy production is expected to begin flowing into the grid in 2027, with the projects reaching full operational status by 2028.
