Bangladesh Cricket Board coaching changes

Overview

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has removed Mohammad Ashraful from his position as the national team’s batting coach. The decision follows disappointing performances by the men’s cricket team, including consecutive losses to Zimbabwe and Afghanistan during a recent ODI tri-series in the United Arab Emirates.

While Ashraful’s contract remains valid until February, he will be reassigned to a different department within the organization. Mohammad Saluddin, the head coach of the BCB’s High Performance department, has been appointed as the interim batting coach. The BCB is currently considering international candidates, such as Mohammad Yousuf and Hashim Amal, for a permanent role.

In conjunction with these changes, the BCB announced that the first Test match against the West Indies, scheduled for late October, will offer free entry to certain sections, specifically the North and South Galleries, to encourage spectator attendance.
