Bank of Palestine community support initiatives

Overview

The Bank of Palestine has undertaken several social responsibility initiatives in Palestine aimed at community support and capacity building.

In late September, the bank sponsored a specialized training workshop in Jericho for local authorities. Conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Local Government, the program focused on first aid and emergency response to improve the readiness of local bodies to handle emergency situations. CEO Mohammad Shawar described the initiative as a “real partnership in issues affecting citizen safety.”

In October, the bank expanded its community efforts through the ‘Back to School’ initiative in the Gaza Strip. In coordination with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the bank distributed approximately 7,000 school bags to primary students across several governorates, including Gaza, North Gaza, Khan Younis, the Middle Area, and Rafah. General Manager Mahmoud Al-Shawa stated that the initiative seeks to reinforce “hope, stability, and the right to learn for children in the region” despite difficult circumstances.
