Baykar unmanned aerial vehicle testing

Overview

Baykar has conducted several successful tests to expand the operational capabilities of its unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAVs).

In late October 2026, the Bayraktar TB3 completed a sonobuoy launch test from the TCG Anadolu ship during the TURNAs-2026 exercise. Using the Baykar Sonobuoy Launch System, the TB3 deployed sensors to collect acoustic signals for anti-submarine warfare, demonstrating the ability of ship-based UAVs to support maritime underwater surveillance.

In early November 2026, testing shifted to the Bayraktar TB2, which was successfully demonstrated as a carrier platform for FPV kamikaze drones. During trials at the Keşan Flight Training and Test Center, the TB2 released Skydagger drones that were controlled by ground-based operators to strike designated targets.
