Belgrade public transport AC complaints

Overview

In early August 2026, the Belgrade transport union recorded a surge in complaints about non‑functioning air‑conditioning on public‑transport vehicles, with more than 2,800 reports filed since mid‑June and a sharp increase in the days leading up to August 1. Union leader Ivan Baković warned that extreme heat was endangering passengers and drivers and said the union would monitor the response of city inspectors and the public‑utility company.

A few days later, the union and the city’s public‑transport users association released a "black list" naming bus operators that had failed to provide air‑conditioning during the hottest period. The list was compiled from 785 complaints received between 16 July and 3 August, adding to a total of over 3,000 reports since the portal’s launch. Operators such as ASP "Strela‑Obrenovac" and Banbus Obrenovac were singled out, and the union called for punitive action to deter further violations.
