Belgrade Staklenac market demolition

Overview

In late July 2026 Belgrade announced plans to demolish the Staklenac shopping centre on Republic Square to make way for new development. Authorities also outlined a temporary relocation of the nearby Bajlonija market, with a future modern rebuild planned near Linijski park.
