Benedetta Rossi adopts two sisters from Costa Rica

Italian food blogger Benedetta Rossi and her husband, Marco Gentili, announced the adoption of two sisters, Natacha and Sharlyn, aged 10 and 9, from Costa Rica. After a month-long process in Costa Rica to build a bond with the children, the family returned to their home in Fermo, Italy.

Rossi described the transition as a “teamwork” effort to assist the children in adjusting to their new reality and processing their emotions. As part of their integration, the family celebrated the successful introduction of the children to their dog, Cloud, whom the girls have nicknamed ‘il nostro fratello peloso’ (our furry brother).

To ensure the children’s daily lives remain as “serene and protected as possible,” Rossi and Gentili have decided not to show their daughters on social media. While the couple intends to share stories regarding their family’s evolution, they will refrain from posting images of the children to protect their privacy.

This decision drew commentary from television host Caterina Balivo on the program ‘La volta buona’. Balivo appealed to parents against the overexposure of minors online, arguing that publishing children’s photos creates a digital identity for them without their consent and that parents have a responsibility to protect their privacy rather than seeking popularity through their likenesses.
