Billy Gunn professional wrestling career developments

Overview

Professional wrestler and AEW coach Billy Gunn has provided insights into both industry-wide conflicts and his personal career trajectory within All Elite Wrestling (AEW).

Gunn reflected on historical industry tensions, including the 2022 AEW All Out backstage altercation and Triple H’s 2019 disparaging remarks regarding AEW. He characterized the former as a warning for younger talent regarding veteran interactions and described the latter as a “dick move” intended to “save face.”

Regarding his own career, Gunn detailed an unexpected resurgence in AEW. Despite an initial contract limited to 12 dates per year and a coaching role, his active wrestling schedule increased significantly. He noted that AEW strategically paired him with the tag team The Acclaimed to provide them with “immediate credibility and visibility,” a move that led to the trio winning the AEW World Trios Championships.
