Bintan Regency administrative and spatial planning

Overview

The Bintan Regency government has initiated several administrative and planning measures aimed at improving regional development and efficiency.

In late September, the regency accelerated the preparation of the Detailed Spatial Plan (RDTR) for the Tembeling and Tanjunguban areas. Regent Roby Kurniawan stated that this plan is intended to provide legal certainty for land use and serve as a foundation for development policies to open larger investment opportunities.

By late October, the government proposed a restructuring of its regional apparatus to enhance public service efficiency. Regional Secretary Ronny Kartika announced a plan to reduce the number of Regional Government Organizations (OPD) from 29 to 25 through various departmental mergers. These proposed changes include combining departments related to food security, agriculture, fisheries, environmental affairs, housing, culture, tourism, and finance.
