Boca Chica shooting of urban artist Diddy Glow

On September 12, 2026, urban music artist Jesús Alexis Delgado Ortiz, professionally known as ‘Diddy Glow’, was killed in a shooting in the La Coca sector of Boca Chica, Santo Domingo. The incident resulted in the death of one other unidentified individual and left at least five people injured. Initial reports suggested the violence may have occurred during a gathering involving a betta fish fight.

By September 14, the National Police provided further details, identifying the second deceased individual as 26-year-old Jonathan Villanueva, known as ‘Cotuí’. Police spokesperson Diego Pesqueira stated that the gunfire was directed at another person present at the scene, suggesting that Diddy Glow was not the intended target. Authorities are investigating the incident under the hypothesis of ‘old grievances’ and are reviewing security footage and interviewing witnesses to identify the perpetrators.
