Bogor-Jakarta KRL Commuter Line service disruptions

Overview

The Bogor-Jakarta Kota KRL Commuter Line has experienced service disruptions due to different causes. On September 30, 2026, rain and wind caused a tree to fall near Universitas Indonesia Station, damaging the overhead power line network between Pasar Minggu and UI stations. While services were temporarily restricted, repairs were completed by the afternoon, allowing operations to return to normal.

On October 16, 2026, KAI Commuter canceled seven trips on the same route due to technical issues with rolling stock. These cancellations involved train sets undergoing intensive repairs at the Bukit Duri Depot, with technical teams from KAI Commuter and PT Industri Kereta Api (Persero) working to resolve the issues.

Following these disruptions, KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin urged PT Industri Kereta Api (INKA) to resolve persistent technical issues specifically regarding the iE305/CLI-225 KRL trainsets. Rasyidin emphasized that corrective actions must address the “root causes of these failures rather than providing temporary fixes,” noting that fleet reliability and safety are paramount during peak hours. INKA has issued an apology and stated they are working with KAI Commuter to investigate technical findings and implement necessary repairs.
