Bogotá digital education and scholarship initiatives

Overview

The Bogotá government has initiated several programs to expand digital education and professional training within the city.

In late September, the Bogotá Mayor's Office partnered with Claro Colombia to launch a public-private initiative providing free digital training. This program integrates the ‘Aprende con Claro’ and ‘Bogotá Capital Digital’ platforms to offer over 1,000 courses in fields such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and STEAM subjects, with a focus on reaching vulnerable populations and women.

Following this, the Bogotá District Government Secretariat of Government, in collaboration with Educa Edtech, announced 100 virtual scholarships for higher education. These scholarships cover undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs in technical fields including software engineering, computer systems, and information security, aiming to address labor market demands in the technology sector.
