Authorities in Bogotá are investigating the death of 33-year-old Yenifer García Valencia, who died on August 15 during a home-based tattoo session in the Terrazas de San Jorge neighborhood.

Initial reports indicated the victim suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest after an accomplice of the tattoo artist allegedly administered an anesthetic substance. Investigators seized needles, inks, and pigments for laboratory analysis to check for toxic or unauthorized components.

Subsequent findings revealed that the victim’s family had paid approximately 600,000 Colombian pesos for sedation. While the individual providing the service claimed to be an anesthesiologist, investigations suggest he was actually a nursing assistant. Police recovered medical supplies at the scene, including ketamine and Dormicum (midazolam), and are working to determine if these were administered in lethal quantities. Although suspects were initially detained, they have since been released, and the final cause of death is pending analysis by Medicina Legal.
