Bomb threats in Delhi
Overview
In mid-August, multiple bomb threats were reported across Delhi via email and phone calls, targeting high-profile locations such as the Red Fort, the Delhi High Court, and Indira Gandhi International Airport's Terminal 3. These threats occurred just prior to India's Independence Day. Security agencies, including bomb disposal squads and the Delhi Police, conducted searches at the sites, but authorities reported that nothing suspicious was found.
In early September, a new wave of bomb threats via email targeted the Delhi Assembly, Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, and various government offices. Emergency response teams and dog units were deployed to perform anti-sabotage checks. Similar to the August incidents, officials stated that no suspicious objects were discovered, and investigations were launched to trace the source of the emails.
