Bomb threats targeting Albanian state institutions

Overview

In Albania, authorities launched an investigation following a series of bomb threats sent via email to various state institutions in cities such as Vlorë and Berat. The messages, sent from an unidentified foreign address, utilized terrorist rhetoric and claimed affiliation with the Islamic State.

Targeted sites included the Prosecutor's Office, the Court, and the Municipality in Vlorë, as well as SPAK and GJKKO. The Albanian State Police deployed anti-terror units and K9 teams to inspect the locations. While searches confirmed that no explosives or dangerous devices were present, the Directorate for Cybercrime Investigation is working to identify the sender.
