Bonito micromobility safety training initiative

Overview

The city of Bonito, Brazil, has implemented its first instruction course for the operation of self-propelled vehicles. This training initiative, part of the ‘Micromobility with Safety’ project, focuses on individual micromobility such as electric bicycles and scooters.

The program is a collaboration between the State Transit Council of Mato Grosso do Sul (CETRAN-MS) and the Bonito City Hall through the Municipal Transit Department (DEMTRAT). It aims to improve road safety and provide guidance on the proper use of these vehicles to ensure safer coexistence between users, pedestrians, and other drivers.

The initiative follows the publication of Decree No. 47/2026, which established rules for circulation, municipal registration, and safety requirements for electric bicycles and other self-propelled devices to organize urban mobility.
