Bosnia and Herzegovina institutional and corporate reforms
Overview
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, efforts to align national standards with European Union trends have progressed through corporate and legislative initiatives.
Initially, more than 200 companies signed the Charter on Respect for Human Rights, a corporate social responsibility program supported by the European Union. This initiative, which involves over 4,000 workers, focuses on improving business standards through 15 principles centered on dignity, respect, and healthy work environments.
Following these corporate developments, the Council of Ministers adopted the Human Resources Management Development Strategy for state-level institutions for the 2026–2030 period. This strategy aims to modernize personnel administration into a results-driven function. Concurrently, the Council established a working group to draft amendments to the Law on the Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing to strengthen the financial system and meet FATF and MONEYVAL recommendations.
