Bosnian War military commemorations
Overview
Commemorations have been held for prominent military commanders from the Bosnian War.
In late September, Željko Komšić, a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, attended a ceremony on the Nišić plateau in Jasen to mark the 32nd anniversary of the death of Zama Dučić. Dučić, a commander of the 101st Motorized Brigade's Maneuver Battalion and recipient of the ‘Golden Lily’ decoration, was honored with the laying of wreaths and flowers.
In early October, ceremonies marked the anniversary of the death of Zaim Imamović. A major who commanded the 14th Division of the First Corps of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Imamović was killed by shellfire on Mount Treskavica in 1995. He was recognized for his role in the defense of Goražde and for organizing Operation ‘Krug’ in 1992.
