Brazil 2026 cultural festivals

Overview

In late July, Festival Timbre 2026 revived the Palco Sesc Hip Hop stage at Uberlândia’s Teatro Municipal, partnering with Sesc Minas and Sistema Fecomércio MG. More than 40 urban-culture acts performed, covering rap, DJing, breaking, graffiti, slam poetry, vogue, passinho, digital art and other street-culture forms. The roster included groups such as Funkse, Maria Preta, Projeto Nêga Doce, Tropikaya and dozens of DJs and crews, aiming to foster inter-generational dialogue and showcase peripheral artistic production.

The festival’s 14th edition, held on 8–9 August, featured over 30 performances across two simultaneous stages. Under the theme ‘A Vibração do Encontro’ (The Vibration of the Encounter), the lineup included Alceu Valença, Gloria Groove, BK’, Fresno, Black Pantera, Marcelo Falcão, Pato Fu, Lagum, NandaTsunami, Funkse, Duda in the Sky, Michz & Oric, and Tropikaya. Organiser Lucas Cordeiro noted the event functions as a regional economic engine, driving tourism and creating hundreds of temporary jobs in production, security, logistics, and hospitality.

Regional cultural fairs also highlighted Brazil’s creative industries. In Amazonas, ExpoUatumã 2026 ran from 30 July to 2 August in São Sebastião do Uatumã, featuring Victor & Leo and Pedro Lucca and Os Meninos. In Amapá, the 55th Expofeira took place from 8–16 August in Macapá, featuring Ana Castela, Wesley Safadão, Diante do Trono with Padre Fábio de Melo, and a two-night Festival das Aparelhagens. Additionally, Santa Catarina’s municipality of Videira opened credentialing for 30 musical acts at Expo Videira 2026.
