Brazil-Argentina tourism and aviation connectivity
Overview
Air connectivity between Brazil and Argentina reached record levels in 2026, with 18,775 planned flights representing a 7.5% increase over the previous year. This expansion includes 25 regular and 21 seasonal routes connecting seven Argentine cities to 15 Brazilian destinations. To support this growth, Brazil launched the promotional campaign “Brasil. ¡El país que te completa!” to increase tourist arrivals.
Building on this regional connectivity, the Argentine province of Salta has intensified its own international tourism promotion. Following the expansion of regional air links, Salta officials conducted business rounds in Uruguay and Brazil. Specifically, a new direct flight connection operated by GOL Linhas Aéreas is scheduled to begin twice-weekly service between Rio de Janeiro and Salta on December 17, targeting Brazil as Salta’s primary foreign tourism market.
